Is this a problem with a specific application or all Java apps? I've not had any problems running either Java 1.4 or 1.5 with Firefox.

Well at work one app asks for a spefic Java version. Works fine with Opera and IE which go and get the desired plugin while Firefox fails miserably.
Dunno about other apps as I don't come across very many on the web. The only way to prove it is to right a Java program which does this and see if it fails. Anyone want to do this???

I just thought that seeing i noticed the never version was available that i'd let others know about it. I#m sorry delany, this was not directed at you. I'm sorry if it came out wrong, and now that I've re-read it, it sure sounded like I had a problem with you or this thread. Again, I apologize. Your thread is just collateral damage
If you look at the threaded view, you'll see that my post was in reply to Nowhere's (should have quoted). It just pisses me off that certain people accuse me of zealotry because I know my way around Opera and like to share my knowledge. If I get ridiculed because I am being nice, I'll stop being nice. Sorry this happened in your thread.
Yes, I am in a bad mood.

Maybe lots of you have been teasing Az too much about liking Opera.. I don't see the point, frankly. This same exact thing used to happen to Mac users, and it was pointless and counterproductive.. it even helped build the MSFT monopoly through some weird form of geekish peer pressure. I am quite happy that we have access to three major browsers now, and that all of them are free (more or less.) It is a richer world because of this. Can't we find something better to direct our attention toward fixing?

Az,
It's cool, I don't have a problem with you or anyone else. I was just suffering from a severe lack of sleep and your posting (when looked at in linear view) appeared to be having a dig, to which i well and truely bit.
I'm over it now so in the immortal words of Officer Barbrady "Move along, Nothing to see here"
