That's kinda scary. I think I'd prefer to get an nF3 now, and switch later, than go with something based on that.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

I never considered Gigabyte, my friend's E7205 based board fried for no apparent reason. But I gotta admit that DPS is sweet.

I chosed DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D too, because of the 100% Japanese capacitors and most reviews say its the best nF4 Ultra board to date. And gosh I am glad I chose this board, real high quality feel, and looks cool. My last AMD machine was am Athlon Thunderbird 1.4GHz paired with a SiS745, and boy, the Athlon 64 Vanice paired with an NForce 4 Ultra was a pretty big jump

      Both setups are good though

I know that ULi does not have the best reputation.
But I will wait until some motherboards with this chipset are available.

ASrock showed a board at Computex

        939Dual-M2

        ULi M1695/M1567 chipset
        FSB 1000MHz (2.0GT/s), DC-DDR400
        HTT, AMD cool n quiet
ASrock Future CPU Port for upgrading to M2 in the future
        PCI Express x16
        Native AGP 8x
        PCI Express x1
        Hybrid booster for safe overclocking
PCI Express based SATA 2 controller on board
        Serial ATA 1.5Gb/s RAID 0,1,JBOD
        7.1 channel audio, 10/100 Ethernet
ASrock 8 Ch I/O, 4 USB ready to be used

        (from ocwb)

Sounds interesting to me. I would like to replace my AthlonXP with an A64 but keep my AGP Radeon X800XT.
Hope there will be some reviews of those kind of motherboards soon.

          Hahaha. ULi. Shivers.

My A7A266 died, same goes for my friend's A7A266.

But, it maybe different with the K8 platform.

Well, ULi chipsets seem to be used often for 'el cheapo' motherboards.
I never owned a mobo with ULi chipset.
But if you want to upgrade to an A64 cpu and keep your AGP card there is not much choice. VIA K8T800Pro (e.g. ASUS A8V, ABIT AV8) or NF3 boards.
I still have not made up my mind which way to go.

It's all put together. Pretty new signature. And I haven't even started OCing yet

Nice! How about putting in some cpu cycles in support of climateprediction.net?
