Oh ok...my crystal ball is foggy about this but what are people going to do that already have HDTV's with out a HDMI/HDCP input? Trash them so they can get a HD-DVD player? Plus there really isnt any difference between an HDMI and Compent cables when it comes to regular DVD's anyway. Its all about stupid copy protection
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

Sure there is. You don't have redundant A/D conversions with DVI-D or HDMI when using an appropriate player and you can perform additional video processing in the digital domain.

Just ordered a 2005fpw from Dell UK for £400 (inc Vat & Delivery).
I've barely run-in my 19" AG and the TFT bug has bitten me hard
            Athlon XP-64/3200, 1gb PC3200, 512mb Radeon X1950Pro AGP, Dell 2005fwp, Logitech G5, IBM model M.

I'm talking about visual output...most lay people don't care about what you stated.

Only thing i like about HDMI is the cable management issue, the plug is alot smaller

Plus I haven't seen any receivers nor TV's offer multiple HDMI inputs, which I would need for a (HD)DVD player, cable box and possibily next Gaming system.

I'm also talking about visual output. Some "lay people" still care about PQ and will notice the difference when using appropriate equipment.

You would use an external HDMI switcher.

Looking at the 2405fpw the response is too slow. Plenty of tearing and artifacting with fast moving graphics so I ain't going to bother.

Well most people I know balk at even using a elcheapo Svideo cable with their DVD Player

How do you define appropriate equipment? High End AV equipment? I haven't noticed much of a difference between Compsite and DVI-HDMI on my 50inch DLP in reguards to my cable box.

Wow never knew they made them....ouch they are expesive!

Cable can look pretty crappy so GIGO applies here. Try DVD playback on a PC with DVI output to your DLP. You'll probably have to set up your DLP for the proper overscan. What model do you have?
