@Az: best send it in a small box, regular post with a receipt (or no receipt but you don't know whether it arrived).

                  Sweetness!

                  My main rig:

Athlon XP 2100+ (upgraded a year ago from an Athlon C 1.2GHz, bought it off a friend for dirt cheap)
ECS K7S5A Pro (onboard sound + NIC)
80GB Maxtor DiamondMax 9 (traded it for 2 40gigs with a friend of mine)
2x 512mb Kingston DDR400 Value RAM (@266MHz, upgraded a while back cause 512mb PC133 just isn't enough anymore and now ALL ram slots are full)
ATi Sapphire 9600 Pro 256 AGP (Advantage Series @AGP4x cause my board doesn't go any higher, also just upgraded recently from a GF2 Pro, Ah! Much better!)
Enermax 350W PSU (I've had this forever and it still works great)

My Secondary Rig: (some parts in this rig do not belong to me)
                  Celeron 366MHz SLOT 1 (yuck, mine, d'oh!)
                  Asus P3B-F (still works great!)
512mb ram (infineon and some mircron, not mine)
SMC 100mbit NIC (it's either mine or my roomate's)
ATi Rage Pro 8mb AGP 2x (gamers choice! hehe)
40Gig Maxtor Fireball something @5400rpm (yuck, but fortunetely not mine)
                  Titanium is the new bling!

You have a slot 1 cpu somehwere?? Wow, I thought those were extinct!!

Would be sweet to upgrade it.

I do have a P3 500Mhz for it but it's fried. Took it out from my roomates dad's friend's system and found a hair from a brush between the cpu die and the heatsink which probably caused it to overheat. Now it's just a big old keychain, hehe.

Hmm...nice idea, perhaps somebody wants to look up some trash that will be ok for my system? ;P

                        Athlon XP Palomino 1700+
                        ASRock K7S8X
                        80GB Barracuda
                        256mb ram
                        Matrox G400 Single Head 16mb
                        Chieftec 350W PSU
cheapest Logitech keyboard & optical mouse
                        Aureal SQ2500
                        Teac x40 CDROM
                        LiteOn x52 CDRW

Also there's this second system, not mine really, but I use it while in home city. With dual Asus board (the one that goes to pII 333); pesky board when it comes to ram, I should add - so only 128mb in there...

Seriously, my computer isn't that bad, I can do practically anything I want with it (except perhaps games). Others have worse for sure. So...what do you say that we create some "begging thread" , where financially restricted people can post their specs/bottlenecks and where people with some old (for them) and useless trash in drawers, etc. can decide if they want to send it to somebody?

begging thread works for me... maybe make it somehow that for each item send to someone else, a small Murc donation should be made
