  • Multiple Monitors & Questions

First of all, not sure if any of you have seen this page from Dell that is selling a bunch of different multi-monitor solutions:

And second, how hard is it to setup 3 monitors without a Parhelia? For instance, what if I had a PCIE mobo and I had two different video cards in two different PCIE slots. Could I easily run 3 monitors? If so, what kinds of limitations would I run into? Thanks!
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

Well, I played with 3 monitors with a buddy once...it's basically no different than 2 monitors using two different video cards (meaning mostly - no stretched desktop...)

So what does the 2nd monitor show then? Another dekstop like the first monitor? And there is no way around the stretched desktop?

It really depends on the capabilities of the graphics card and driver.
Along those same lines, you also have to be careful about the graphics cards getting along with each other. Best bet is to use two of the same card, since I've seen different cards from the same manufacturer not work within the same system even with the same driver.
