I went from Panda AV to NOD32 on my Ferrari laptop, just to give it a try. OMG what a speed demon in comparison. The laptop no more felt sluggish. NOD32 is a 1000 times faster! And according to reviews I've seen also has a very high detection rate.

I later bought NOD32 licenses for two more computers.

Thanks a bunch for this tip.

I've been using Avast! for several months and I'm satisfied with it. It's free and programm updates are done frequently. Combined with Microsoft AntiSpyware, my computer is free of these things. The best anti-spyware I have used was QuickHeal. It removed one specific spyware on my computer while the best known products (NAV, Spyware Doctor, Spyware Sweeper, MS Antispyware and some others) all failed. But it's not free. So I only used the trial version.
