If it's bittorrent all the clients have configurable settings for max peer connections. What client are you using?

In my experience overthinking the duplex settings is never good. I would consider setting it back to auto.

Cat 5e is better than Cat 5 if your trying to work on the edge there.

What's your switch/router? Is it really up to sustained full duplex?
    P.S. You've been Spanked!

      I have a D-Link 16 port switch, and a netgear router.

Remember, the problem was there initially when I had it set to Auto too.

I don't use that client so I can't provide much in the way of specific advice. If it has the ability to limit the peer connections I'd try that.

Generally speaking, I'd ensure the firmware on the router was updated as well as the mobo bios. I'd be using a CAT 5e cable and I might even try taking the router and switch out of the equation for a day or two while I tested the NIC going directly to the internet modem.

Beyond that I'd google around for info on related problems with Marvell cards. It's possible that they are known driver issues and or specific tweaks available.
