Yippeee. I got my monitor yesterday and finally had time to set it up today. Looks great so far. Stuck in Ghost in the Shell 2 for a few seconds, but will be using it mostly to do coding the next week as I have a deadline coming up next week.

              Likely high

May I ask why you're holding out for it?

I have never seen a monitor with led backlight. And I want to see what the difference is.

                Ouch 5000 USD.

I saw that Samsung monitor at CES. LED backlight is going to have superior color reproduction than CCFL, however the technology is still relatively new. Its come a long way in the past couple years, but still consumes a lot of power, generates a lot of heat compared to CCFL, and is substantially more expensive (as you noticed).

So I can get the Dell 2407WFP at work now (and buy it from work in a few months). Can it do pivot? Can;t find that anywhere.

My googling seems to say that it CAN pivot. But people aren't too happy with the monitor http://www.widescreengamingforum.com...=asc&start=350

seems it doesn't perform as well as the 2405,
may explain why it is a little more economically priced.

I've been really happy with my Dell. Although I couldn't get the dual head to work correctly with my 17" CRT. It was either have the screen not fit on the CRT or have the LCD be 16 bit. But with virtual desktops in Linux I don't really need an actual second desktop. I'll maybe give my parents my 17" but not sure if it'll fit on their desk.
