Laptop on lap: how to shield from the heat?

    I didn't find anything in the store: the only one they had moves heat to the bottom.

    I wonder if it wouldn't be better to build it myself. With my Datahand keyboard came a lap-holder for it. While not appropriate for the laptop, it has given some ideas.

    What material is best suited? I'm thinking plywood, but any better ideas? A flat, hard surface ought to allow sufficient cooling, no?

      Just came across the Lapinator. It get good reviews from Virtual-Hideout, the gadgeteer, and others.

      Now to find a place to buy it from.

        It's a tricked out AirBake cookie sheet at 2x the price. 3x the price of a dept. store generic. Main difference is the pads that also make it thicker/heavier. Those rubber 'bumps' do what my rigs stick-on $3 rubber feet do.

        Also; If you touch the part between the Thinsulate pads how does it feel?
