Okay, so one more fyi then...

The online user guide for the 2407 located in the support area of Dell's site mentions that 1920x1200 is the "optimal" resolution twice. Once on the "specs" page and once on the "monitor setup" page.
    P.S. You've been Spanked!

I can't remember even having seen an LCD with a different recommended from max res. Only CRT's. Greebe, would you be as kind as to scan the catalog page? We get dutch catalogs only and in thise they don;t mention that.

I've seen some manuals/user guides for lcds with the reccomended lower than max, due to the small pixel size at max resolution where some people may have trouble seeing text etc.
Usually the term 'reccomended' was only used for analog monitors however, since you generally wouldn't want to run them at max.

          What would you guys recommend???

          Two 19inch LCD's? or one 24 inch?

Two 19" LCD's costs here in Canada aprox $550 + tax
The one Dell or otherwise 24" wide screen costs over $700

Now aside from cost, what would you do in terms of realestate space and convenience etc.

The 19" I was looking at is the follwoing...

I ask because in the basement I have 5 monitors 3 PC's, and starring at CRT's is making me dizzy, thought LCD's would be much better and easier on the eyes.

          Thanks,
          Elie

Personally I prefer the widescreen models because I need a good deal of horizontal space (and the physical break with two monitors bugs my eyes), but with that setup I'd probably opt for the two 19" LCDs. They will give you more screen real-estate and I imagine would end up being more convenient with 3 PCs (depending on how you hooked everything up).

I get a headache looking at CRTs anymore, so the switch to an LCD was always worth the cost to me.
