I was messing around with it yesterday night... or this morning if you want to be exact. noticed some interesting things..
source file is a fraps i capped in prey. ~500mb 640x512res ~2min file.
using avivo to convert to wmv at same resolution and 5mbit rate. 2min01
using Windows media encoder at 1280x720 and 5mbit rate. 21min (not including 2min45s pause before encoding)
using windows media encoder at 640x512res and 2mb rate. 7min45s (not including 2min45s pause before encoding)
Using avivo to convert to divx mp4 at 640x512 and 4mb. 1min47s
using nero 7 to convert to (nero) mp4 at 640x512 and 4mb. 1min07s
side note: this was a good way to stress test my cpu's overclock @2.43 from 2.2ghz.
