I really goofed on that last post. I've never triple posted before. BIOS tweaks...I will edit this later with more detail, I am at work right now so do not have access to my BIOS, but here is what I did (all done in Power Management or Power for P3B-F owners):

        Power Management: User Defined
        Everything else...Disabled or Off

One of my friends just picked up a BE6, it will be fun to test it against my P3B-F. Keep you posted.

          Thanks Jammrock,
I am very happy with my Aopen AX6BC for performance and stability but the allure of Asus and 6 PCI is great. Secondly, I am hoping that being PC99, ACPI will work eventually(ACPI has been the bane of my life for too long-A Completely Pathetic Invention-but I want it bad). I dream of a PC sleeping peacefully just like a TV on standby, using almost no electricity and ready to burst into life in a few seconds for a quick fix of Quake until my next chicken out save. I noticed that on Aopens website, their latest board, the AX63 with the VIA 133 chipset, specifically lists my Mystique G200 as NOT ACPI compliant. I have always suspected my Mystique to be the stumbling block and cannot get to the bottom of whether it is the driver/PD, chipset design. Maybe PD 5.2? will fix it and maybe the G400 is ACPI compliant?????? Any answers, ideas anyone-Haig??? Please keep us in touch Jammrock with your motherboard experiences.
          Cheers
          Brent

              Guyver,

              600MHz - Nice one

              What's the voltage?
              CPU temperature?
              Any special cooling?

              Chris.

                Cris H,

                Thanks!

                2.0V (default)

39C - After running Prime95 all night long....

Added 1 small fan that sits on top of the G200 under the heatsink channel. Air blows up through the channel, and mid-way up the factory fan blows air in the channel. Gives a positive airflow for the CPU. I also have a 4500RPM fan attached to the G200 heatsink (AAVID) used to be attached to a PII-266 that someone else trashed.

                Yee-Haw... I'm liking it.

Each iteration of Prime95 was only .075-.076 seconds...

                  Excellent

My K6-III 450 runs at 52C, even with its massive socket 7 heatsink & fan! (not overclocked).

I want to return to Slot 1 (and overclocking ), hence the questions I've been asking about the BE6 and the P3B-F.

Now, how much are PIII 450's this month......

                    Chris H,

I'll throw up a little review on the General Hardware thread about the P3B-F and BE6 after I get a chance to test them both over the weekend.

                      Chris H,

                      www.pricewatch.com

Currently PIII-450 @ 222 (lowest) - this website lists prices from lots of different vendors....

My SCSI controller is the only thing holding me back - my system would post and boot off of an IDE hard drive @ 630Mhz (140FSB)...
