    Blue screens still occur due to

    1) Spyware
    2) Virus's
    3) Badly written drivers
    4) Badly written software (Try Webroot, Spyware Doctor and Escan anti virus and with 75% of machines you'll get a blue screen of death)
    5) Removal off spyware (Yup seen that)
    6) Duff hardware most likely memory
    7) Crap Bios which have poor memory timings set.

    Wondering why firefox would crash the machine due to crap drivers. Did you try IE at the time??

      yep, and i don't have any problems with it (besides the fact that it's really strange to surf without all that extensions ).
      I read a bit around and found that reference to bad nic drivers as well, but if that's the reason it *should* crash with other internet applications as well like IE, Email, Ftp, ..... on the other side we talk about Windows, so forget about obvious things ...

      I'll try it out with a different nic tho ...
