Now this is funny we're running a wireless network across Uni and SSID is called Resnet. This is based in Student houses. The setting is infostructure Now if the routers fall over in the residances meaning theres no access the wireless cards start broadcasting resent as ad-hoc. The students then try to connect to this.
Even stranger the mac address's of wireless card change as well while they're doing this.
AS soon as the wireless router comes back on line the rogue resnet disappears. The networking boys are now changing the name of SSID to avoid confusion.
We didn't have this problem last year so whats changed with wireless access.
