I guess it's true but San Jose is late to the game:
Article dated June 2nd:
EDIT: It's actually giving extra bandwidth when the shared pipe isn't being used, so not as good as I thought. They call it "Powerboost". So only good when the pipe isn't being hammered by a lot of people. I didn't know. When a user downloads a large file like a movie or video game, that acceleration -- from 6 megabits per second to 12 megabits per second for subscribers to Comcast's $42.95 per-month service or from 8 megabits per second to 16 megabits per second for its $52.95 per-month tierLast edited by Helevitia; 22 November 2006, 00:04.Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

I get a better ping to SLC than I do to the downtown hub?Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Oh sure, rub it in.

My ISP throttles BitTorrent like you wouldn't believe too...
Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox
