I have that scanner, and was worried about compatibility w/ vista.
    From Canon's site:

Will my product work with Windows XP Professional x64?

Windows XP Professional x64 requires drivers that are specifically designed for that operating system. Currently the CanoScan 9950F, 8400F, 8600F, 4400F, LiDE 500F, LiDE 600F and LiDE 70 Color Image Scanners have an x64 driver available for download.

Also, when you click drivers for the 620U, there are no Vista drivers.
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

        Ah, I see.

What are the advantages of running Vista 64?

I may have to run something older in virtualization to get my scanner to work.

Some (minor!?!) speed advantages when using more than 4gb of ram and or handling files larger than 4gb.

ability to play some drm'ed premium content when having the correct player installed.

For me personally, there would be more disadvantages. I have some older devices that I would like to continue using.
In my own testing with Windows XP x64 Edition and Windows Vista RC1 64 bit, the speed improvement was barely noticeable. Also, I don't know when I'll really need support for more than 4GB of RAM.....why does this sound familiar?
