Hi All,
I was curious if anyone knows anythimg about a file named "io64.sys". The reason I'm asking is because this file did not exist until I upgraded my system with dual 600 MHz CPUs' (intel), it is in the root of my C drive. here is my system:
Motherboard: AMI MegaRUM II, dual 600Mhz Pentium III processors (installed), /w512 L2 Cache each. EIDE dual channel controller (disabled), Dual-Port USB controller, Symbios Logic 53C896 dual channel Ultra2, Wide SCSI controllers, 2 16550 serial ports (disabled), 1 parallel port (ECP/ECC/PPP).
The form factor is an extended ATX motherboard and has 8 slots total, 1 2x AGP connector, 6 PCI and 1 ISA slots. System resources are managed by the Intel 440-GX chipset. 512 megabytes of 8ns PC100 ram (8ns) is installed. The six PCI slots are divided across 2 PCI busses, Primary and Secondary. The secondary bus is comprised of 1 PCI slot and two 64-bit PCI slots; one 64-bit slot is a designated RAID slot. The other secondary 64-bit PCI slot is a shared slot with the ISA bus.
SCSI I/O sub-system:
Channel 1: 4 Seagate Cheetah 9LP, ST34502LW Ultra2 Wide SCSI-3 hard Drives, each with 512k cache, SCSI addresses are 0,0,0 thru 0,3,0 respectively.
Channel 2: JAZ 2GB internal, Plex-Writer 8/20, Pioneer DVD-303s ultra-scsi DVD reader and 2 UltraPlex-Wide 17/40 speed CD-ROM drives. The JAZ is at SCSI address 1,0,0; the Plex-Writer is at 1,1,0; the Pioneer DVD-303s is at 1,2,0; the remaining UltraPlex drives are at SCSI Address 1,3,0; 1,4,0 respectively.
USB I/O: USB Zip Drive.
Networking: The network adapter is a 3Com 3C509B-TX PCI adapter. The dial-up adapter is a US Robotics Courier V.Everything 33.6/28.8/x2/V.90 internal modem.
Video subsystem: Matrox G400 Max with Dual Head, and 32 Meg of 5ns SGRAM. The primary display is a Panasonic PanaSync E21, .25-dot pitch, 20" viewable; the secondary display is a Viewsonic flat panel display model VP150.
Multi-media: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live PCI Bus Mastering sound card. Speaker system is the Cambridge Works FPS2000 Digital speaker system.
I'm currently running Win 98 SE but plan to move to Win2K on final release, any ideas as to the nature of this file would be apprecieated.
Thanks,
Chuck
