  • At it again!

This time, I was attempting to burn a "backup" copy of a CD using my 52X TrueX as a source drive, and my Memorex 2x4x6x CDRW as destination. It appears that my power supply may be woefully insufficient, in that if I try to access both devices simultaneously, it just appears to go to sleep, until I open both trays, and then get the opportunity to kill the errant application. If I use my DVD-ROM as a source, it's perfectly fine.

Could be something to do with all those laser beams going off inside the case. The 52X has 7 lasers going simultaneously. The CDRW has at least 2 to do the reads and writes.

I went ahead and ordered a PCPower&Cooling 425ATX with built in voltage regulation, OC protection on all outputs, and built in thermal regulation (IE variable rate fan from 35CFM to 42CFM)...

It ran about $199, and is of course a new product, and is on back-order....

    Here I go again...

    Time for a new SIG...

It's a 300 Watt (but I'm not certain of it's quality or reliability of it's rating)...

I had the old Turbo Cool 300 for my Full Tower AT case... Man that was one big puppy.. The PS still works to this day...

I use it for testing components and old mobos and such... Also works for additional fans for cooling my case on hot days...
