Playing back movies on a Mac?

I've got some movies that only play without sound in Quicktime, but I'd rather use QT than anything else because of Front Row. What can I do?

You need a plugin for Quicktime that supports the audio codec.

I did, maybe I got the wrong one. VLC could play it back flawlessly.

I only use mplayer http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net/ and vlc on my Mac, I never use quicktime.
