    I just tried tonight to see how far mine can go. I have so far successfully run 3DMark06 without issues on a C2D E6600@333x9=3GHz..works fine , but the stock heatsink is starting to make more noise than I would want it to. Maybe time to mount the quiet fan instead
    I also just got a cheap deal on a videocard upgrade to a X1950XTX and my latest 3Dmark score was 6792.. this without overclocking the videocard nor tweaking the memory etc..

      Tjalfe, you could easily hit 3.2GHz with a better heatsink/fan. The X1950XTX's are nice cards.

      I tried to hit 3.45 up from 3.4 but I got errors in Orthos after 13 minutes or so, so I think I have found the max overclock in my CPU/mobo/heatsink/fan combo. I'm very happy with 3.4 though, so no complaints. memory can probably go higher but the dividers don't give me any options Maybe I can drop the timings more?

      With 3.4GHz on the CPU, 1063MHz on the memory at 4-4-4-9 and my video card at 620/900, I get 10089 for 3Dmark06. Not too shabby I think I can finally quit obsessing and enjoy playing games now

      BTW - Has anyone played TM United? That is the funnest racing game I have payed in years. I can't stop playing it!

        See how Dave's other post turns out before trying

        Have you guys seen the way CPU prices are heading lately? As we know intel is making swingeing cuts in 11 days time, and AMD just cut theirs. the XP6000+ is now £105 here I've always been an AMD man but I still think I'll be heading for a Q6600 when I get back off holiday.

          Some of the overclocks I've seen with the Q6600 on stock cooling;

          390x9= 3510MHz @ 1.5V
          355x9= 3195MHz @ 1.42V
          333x9= 3000MHz @ 1.3V

          All were said to be rock solid (taken from various reviews).
