Why do SD cards delete stuff?

Don't format the card before you shoot.

I've had a compact flash card wipe some my pron that I had downloaded. Quite annoying just was going to burn it to DVD as well. Everything else was there but not the pron.

Managed to get my data back by using a program called R-Studio
