Don't go for the Eagle Consus NAS.

It's a fine external USB box, but their support is HORRIBLE. Vista chokes on the version of Samba their box serves up, and their website has NO downloads - no drivers, no firmware updates, nothing. They ignore my e-mails. It's going back to the store.

Thecus makes some great, very fast, NAS boxes. In the reviews I have seen they smoke the Infrant line, and cost about the same or a little more (they have a lot of options). But unlike Infrant, they are a little trickier with support. Thecus is new and not US based, but they do update their firmwares frequently.

I have the 2 hard drive eSATA RAID box from them, and despite a cheap plastic design and noisy fan, it works like a champ.

I take it back about Eagle, I found out that the Consus is just a rebadged Disk-Stor, so I used that firmware and everything is well.
