        My HDD history...

        Fujitsu - died
Maxtor (by the looks of it, made by then recently bought Quantum) - died

80GB Seagate which I have now works great...but second one, of the same type (though definatelly different batch) suddenly died after two years (isn't recognised even)

And even though I'll probably buy WD this time (I know from silentpcreview of one model which is extremelly quiet)...I can't rely cast a vote...

I picked "other". I'm not a huge fan of any of the drives out now. I loved Quantum drives and I did like IBM drives, but they are both gone. Western Digital Raptors are nice but my 150's are very noisy. By far the noisiest part of my computer.

I have the Enterprise grade Seagate drives in my NAS since they have a 5 year warranty with 24/7 uptime, but I'm not to fond of Seagate HDD's. Never did like Hitachi, Maxtor Samsung or Fujitsu.
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

I have a 13GB quantum that ran forever, and still works, but just no use for it anymore.
