    just went to device manager in my Vista Ultimate 64bit.. saw this:



    I think windows is confused
    I did upgrade from an E6600 to a Q6700, but you would think it would have caught on by now
    We have enough youth - What we need is a fountain of smart!

    Never seen that. I'd remove the older one.

      That reminds me of Win98 days when looking in safe mode could show several copies of devices.

            I am dual booting with XP now, but so far Vista can do most everything I wanted it to do.. Except for the excessive HDD usage it has, it works pretty good . even if it cannot recognize my CPU properly
            I will try removing and redetecting later, but was mostly just surprised to see it do this.. I thought it read the CPUID string out of the CPU every time it booted, as it is also used in their WGA program.. no?
