DVD Genie did bad things to DVDMax
I tried running DVDGenie with my the bundled MatroxDVD G400MAX. The settings seemed to work great until I looked at what was coming out to my TV from DVDMax! It looked exactly like what others have described as macrovision. ie. Flashing green and/or the image replicated four times. The only fix was to uninstall/reinstall the bundled MatroxDVD.
Do you need to upgrade the Cinemaster engine before using DVDGenie? I have tried the newer engine, but it didn't seem to play as smoothly as the original.
PS. Using the S-Video out directly into the TV
