Blank Locked screen at boot up! (Inconsistant)

While messing around trying to get my LAN working with Seti@Home, When soft rebooting the machine locks just past the auto IDE detect in post.. It just has a flashing cursur to left and nothing else. It does this every time It then won't get passed this stage unless left switched off for 10+ mins. Then it goes perfect!

Any Ideas?

Sounds like some software program is causing it. If it was hardware (IRQ conflict) the cursor wouldn't be blinking. I do not have/use Seti@home so I cannot be certain. Look at your start-up files and see if Seti has put anything in there (autoexec.bat, Run in registry, etc). It could be that Seti is trying to acces the LAN before networking is started in the OS. Just a thought.

I'm sure it's not software related, becuase it doesn't get as fas as accessing the HD.

I was using the machine today for hours with no probs, Tried a hard reboot tonight and it locked again, Had to leave it alone for 15mins before it would get past the POST checks.

It's like there's some thermal fuses being blown for some reason, when it gets rebooted!
