Did you use a frequency divider of 2/3 to get the agp speed down to 66MHZ and the pci speed down to 33? If not, i'm sure this problem's coming from your hard drive.

Joachim, Uhummm 2/3 into 83 is not 66/33! Only if at 100 does it do that.

JoeDredd, 400a's are not known for hitting that magical 600! I'm sure your problem rests there. Try setting it for 75 mHz fsb and be happy with that or get another cpu. I might add that 83 mHz fsb can be difficult for many PCI cards and HD's.

Its @ 500 at the mo and i have had no problems at all, no locks up nothings

i can get it to run 98SE @ 600 without the level one cache on but it is so slow.

oh well maybe 500 is my limit (still can't complain)

Did you try upping the voltage and burning the chip in at a higher voltage for a week or so?

My 366 will do 616 with a 112 bus, but, I have maxtor HDs and they dont like that (so I am at 103).

Also, what type of heatsink do you have on there?

Got 600 with 100mhz FSB but with level1 cache off, takes ages to get into windows and sometimes crashes certain programs.

Cant get it to run any apps except PCIlist etc, to show the speed of the CPU, any ideas
