Vista style file rename in XP/2k3 - solved (only thing attracting me to Vista...:P)

Other stuff on this webpage also seems interesting enough to check (Vista style adress bar in XP). But all those apps require .Net 2.0, which I don't have on this machine (and no way to get it really - mobile access)


PS. So...it seems I'm definatelly choosing slowest/cheapest Thinkpad R61 with XP Pro . Right now Vista oficially has no features that I need/want...but bloat is for sure one of the things I do not wish to have... (ok, there is one dillema left: will Intel keep X3100 gfx drivers on par performance/etc. wise with the ones for Vista?...)

hmm, i'm using that for long on my Win2K machine here at work as i replaced the Windows explorer with the xplorer². There's a free version available from them, that should support that renaming feature as well. I'm not 100% sure as i use the professional version, but you could give it a try, as xplorer² has many other awesome features too -> http://www.zabkat.com/x2lite.htm

xplorer² was also mentioned there, but...well, I just don't like it (stumbled upon it several times previously when searching for alternative file managers/etc.), and - I like to have that behaviour system-wide.
