  • multiple netwok connections

    Hello,

I'm having an issue with multiple network connections in Vista. My computer is connected (via utp) to a router. This router has no internet connection.

When I connect the computer directly to the internet using a usb connected hsdpa modem (my mobile), there appears to be a dns or routing issue. Even though I'm connected to the internet, websites are not found. Disconnecting the utp cable (so that the internet connection is the only one present) solves the issue.

How can I change this behaviour? I would like to have both lan access and internet...

    Thanks!

Does your Router issue a default gateway?

If it does, then either disable the Default Gateway or check the Binding Order of your machine.

The binding order, if there is NO default gateway on your wired connection should be Wired, Wireless, and your hsdpa, in that order.

If you DO have a Default gateway on your wired connection, then set the Binding Order to Wireless, hsdpa and Wired.

That router/gateway setting in my router solved the issue!
It seemed like the easiest thing to try first (no fiddling in vista's nnetwork connections).

          Thanks!
