You mean it's so fast that it brings up the page before you realize that's where you wanted to go?

Anyway, did anyone figure out how to get the tool bar?
Or even display the home button?

The home button is in the options menu. Other than the bookmark toolbar, there's no other toolbar.

But from what I see, teh home button doesn't mean it will display your home tabs.

By default it displays your most recent pages in a tab preview for home.

Goto Options -> Basics -> Hompage

mark "Open this page: <your home page>"
        and
check "Show home button on tool bar"

I think it goes like this... say you posted here at MURC about something Google related using Chrome, Google now has the rights to use that post you made for promotion purposes and other services whatever that may be.
If that is the case, how would they know what I posted?

It seems very fast compared to IE7...have been using it since this morning, and it seems good.
The EULA is for beta software, so I expect they want to cover everything...and anything...

Will be using it at work and see how it goes...

Just loaded it up, and it is a fast little browser. And I can see cjolley's Chinese sig no problems.

                  Jeez, it gets even weirder.
I had installed IE8 so I checked it out in that and no Chinese characters.
Then I switched to "Emulate IE7" mode and the characters show up.
Switched back and they turn into little boxes again.

Jamm, did you install any extra languages?
What character set are you using?

                    Fixed it.
I had never installed "East Asian Language Support" in my work XP box.
Simply relied on the browser to do it.
                    Installing those files fixed it.

I'm using Vista, so Eastern Language support is automatically there since the OS uses Unicode text.

They had some nice things to say about the IE8 beta. I still haven't moved from IE6 to IE7.

Google has been a big brother for a while now: toolbar, gmail... and they still have the mindshare and cool factor. So this won't bite them as it did not bite them before.

F&%# polish. This thing is fast as hell. I'll keep my other browsers on standby in my quicklaunch, but Chrome is going to get 99% of my time.

Opera still seems faster, and they seemed to have 'borrowed' a few ideas from it. And I don't like how the google installer stays resident in memory.
