  • athlon and matrox

various combinations of CPUs (500, 550, 600 MHz), mainboards (FIC SD11, ASUS K7M) and Matrox cards (G400/16/SH, G200, Millenium PCI) showed that athlon and matrox don't match!
    Miniport-driver, latest matrox-drivers, win95, win98se.... lockups after 5 to 30 minutes.
No, the PSUs are 350W, too.
    Where to look?
BTW, ATI128 works fine at once ;-)

Finally, something the Rage Fury is compatible with.

A lot of people have G400's and Athlon-based systems up and running. And running stable at some extreme speeds and posting incredible numbers.

Jo, how about something specific like IRQ's, bios versions, etc. to work with here?

I haven't had problems with the G400 Max or a MilG200 on mine.

Well as of december 25th, the latest BIOS and drivers were used.
IRQs had to be shared, as the machine is packed to the neck with add-ons (and no more space for my Hauppauge WinTV left 8-( )
The Asus and the FIC don't allow manual distribution of resources, so IRQ-conflicts cannot be avoided...
Why is the ATI working fine (and fast), when _none_ of the tested Matrox-cards will work, even the PCI type?
