If you have problems using Guru's settings, you might want to consider the following:

If you're using CAS3 memory, set your BIOS accordingly.

Set your AGP aperture to 128 or 256 Mb. The G400 upsets conventional wisdom with this setting. Some people have no problems with the 64 Mb setting. Matrox recommends 256 Mb.

Disable all video shadowing. It is my understanding that the G400 doesn't need it, and it frequently doesn't like it.

Yeah, why'd you want the video shadowing enabled? Maybe if you are still using DOS. But for W95 and higher, you don't want to have this thing turned on.

Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.
