hmmm, that´s strange, with my intellimouse explorer ps2 I can put it up to 200hz and it´s smoother. But because I can just notice a very small improvement over 80 hz, I let it be at the 80hz default.
PS: I tried to install it again as an USB device and I managed it. It´s as simple as this: the usb device, to be properly detected must be connected with the pc ON. Just another case of RTFM, I guess
