It just so happens that I posted a similar topic about the same time as you. The HD570 are one of the headphones I'm considering myself, though I haven't tried them out yet. The going rate in US $ is about $150 although you can purchase a factory refurbished set on the Sennheiser website for about $125(US).
I found the HD500 sound pretty nice and are quite comfortable -- about $25 less in price.

My friend has these headphones are they are great! MOst comfotable headphones ive ever worn, and the sound quality is geat. My only problem is that they arent very loud. They are also open air, which is nice, cause you can have them on and still hear wehn people talk to you. Very nice headphone indead.

I have a set of Sennheiser HD-600 headphones. They are great. I found that sometimes the output of the source is too low (some DVDs) and I would recommend you buy a headphone amplifier (I bought a Shure FP22 headphone amplifier). Granted, the FP22 is not cheap

        and

but there are others with lower price tags. The Shure has tons of gain and no noise. It is great. Runs forever on a 9-V Alkaline battery. You can also buy a 115 VAC power supply.

Also, I recommend the Sennheiser DSP360 Dolby processor. This makes Dolby-encoded sources sound dynamite.

On the subject of cheaper setups, I have heard that Grado headphones are quite good also. One advantage for Grado is that they are more sensitive than Sennheiser - meaning you don't need a headphone amplifier for DVD.
