I'll ask the Sony Centre, but of course they may be biased and eager to sell...

The Epson projectors make no mention whatsoever of a grounding requirement. Sanyo does... On my list, these also made the top 3... so I could just go for an Epson model... strange reason to chose one model over the other though...

You want a device that has only 2 prongs on the end of the power cable. That goes for your PC as well.

Anything else with 3rd wire safety gnd and you are just playing the odds about if there is an internal fault.

Yes, but that is impossible. The apartment has a dishwasher, oven, refrigerator+freezer, washingmachine, ... all installed and all devices that never come without grounded sockets. Same goes for desktop computers.

So I don't seem to have any other choice but to "play the odds"... I'm already playing them with the rest of devices there...

well then, just keep your boots on and don't provide a path through your body to another conductor .

If the devices are double insulated (maybe there are labels on the back ?) then there is no need for the safety gnd.
