The light source is in an external box that can be up to 30m away; the projection unit itself can be smaller and needs no cooling; the lamp is much more easily accessible. I'd like to see this filter through to home cinema projectors!

That's a fantastic idea. Maintenance in lecture theatres (sloping floors, seating in the way) will be so much easier, and for home use this could be a much more discrete installation than is usual. When they come down to consumer prices I'm there.
