Get AMDUpdate from AMD or MS. Windows screws up with AMD cpus at 350MHz and above.

    It's not required for Win98.

Yo soy el retardo màs grande del mundo. i realized after 72 hours of screwing with the damned thing that i needed that patch (right before i read your post Himself). i had a sudden flashback when i went to use my K6-III 400 on an Asus P5A in Win95 and i was getting some error, and i couldn't remember what it was earlier today. then i remembered that patch! well, now the computers scared the living crap out of his secretary when instead of waiting a minute for the appointment schedule to come up, it came up in about 5 seconds. thanks for all your help. i appreciate it. MURC RULES!!!

        Yeah, we do, don't we??

Feel free and welcome to start an 'I love the MURC!' thread in The 'Box (a.k.a. 'The Soap Box') ... after some of the visitors we've had the past weeks, we could use it...!

It's really, really nice to help someone who isn't rude, doesn't argue or whine, and who knows how to say, "Hey, thanks!!"

        So thank you, aNtHrAx323...!

Gods, I love win-win tech support days...!!!
