  • Overclocking on a Abit BE6-II

    Hi all.
I have never overclocked anything before but i have had a go at overclocking my PII450 using SoftMenu III.
I changed the CPU FSB CLOCK to 110
And the CPU MULTIPLYER FACTOR to x5.
When i start the pc up the processor is running at 495.
Games seem to run ok and there dont seem to be any corruptions on the windows desktop.
So does any one think i can O/C any further without adding any more fans and am i doing it right.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Well, dont change the CPU multiplier, it does nothing, as you can see. (110x5=550... 110x4.5=495) Your chip has a locked 4.5 multiplier.. DAMN INTEL DAMN THEM!. Anyways, you should be able to go higher. Doesnt that board support 1 mHz increases in FSB? If so move it up slowly, 2 or 3 mHz at a time. Most newer pIII 450's are know to do 600, but the rest of the PC has problems with such an accelerated FSB speed. You can probably go as high as 120 w/ out any problems. If you do keep o'cing and your system just wont start after some point, reset your CMOS/BIOS and step the FSB down about2-3 mHZ... This should help you greatly.
