  • office question: columns

    Hello,

I have quite a simple problem, but can't find the solution. A friend asked me how she could like to make a test in Word with two columns, but where the text doesn't go from the first column to the second one.
An example would be a text in 2 languages, column one is English, column two the other language: the normal column concept makes this difficult. I know it is possible in Word, but don't remember...

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

I find columns hard to work with but then I work little with columns. How about using a 2-column table? If you do not need text to align well you could make a 1 row, 2 column table, otherwise use rows to have paragraphs or whatever start at same height.

True... but she has a job interview and she is expecting that question... So it would be weird to use tables or hacks... Althought the table option would be quite simple: it can span multiple pages...

I just thought Word had an option for that (synchronizsed colums)...

afaik that's not possible with columns. Googled around a bit as i was interested as well, but everywhere the suggestion was to use a table with two columns like Umf mentioned already.
