      OK,

I just got the (2) Iwill socket II adapters, placed the (2) 550e socket p3 processors on my dual board (Iwill DBL) and the bios of the motherboard does not recognize the 2 cpus.
      aahhhhh!!
It works well with only (1) cpu.
I can overclock it easy to 733mhz on the 133bus.

Once I try to put the 2 processors the computer freezes after the memory test (which goes successfully).

Now, I don't know if the 550e are SMP disable by hardware or
If the Iwill socket II does not support dual FC-PGA processor or
If my Iwill DBL motherboard does not recognize the dual 550e and needs a new bios update (which I have the latest right now!)

      I'm very disapointed......
      Any thoughts?????

        Positiv,

I can't recall the cache on the Katmai. Is it 512KB? The 256KB cache on the Coppermines may be experiencing the issue of "Cache incoherency." It is a real problem in SMP systems, but I am no SMP expert. Do you know if your BIOS explictitly supports the 256KB cache based PIII FC-PGA? You may be getting away with only one because it may not matter that much in a single CPU implementation.

If not, you may want to try and be a beta tester for IWill if they do that. I would think they would realize they may sell more dual boards if people know they can go dual PIII FC-PGA's.
