I put a voodoo3 2000 pci into my work pc, replacing an older 4meg card.
My thought was it would give me a faster ramdac + more memory, and if I happened to play q3a on my dual pro...
Well, things ran really poorly. So I checked the q3config and i noticed: set r_smp "0".
I set the value to one, and q3 won't run. Now, I think the PPRo is nice, albeit old, chip. but one 200 PPro won't run q3. 2 might just be playable. But, 3dfx drivers have no SMP! So I checked out the message boards at 3dfxgamers.com, and guess what, the people over there are pissed! I thought the occasional flame here was bad. But there, people are ruthless.
First somebody trashes 3dfx for no smp, then the loyalists call him a baby. then all hell breaks loose. Amusing.
Though, I'm a little disappointed that there is no smp...
