  • website to pdf

    Hello,

I have a simple question: I want to store a website (several linked pages in html) in a single file for use in e.g. an ereader. The site has a quite a simple tree structure: one page with links to other pages, 2 levels deep. The pages are also interlinked.

I was thinking of going to PDF, but only found converters that convert one html page. I just considered that going via CHM might be an option.

    Any suggestion for free tools?
(this is not something I will have to do often)

There also are flash animations, but they are not so important. Are there options if I would want those for use on a pc rather than an ereader? (for sure not pdf)

The animations are the worst part. Every single time I print them, they come out static. As in, WTF!?

Yes... As I have no knowledge of a standard single file format in which animations work, it is not important.

But there should be tools to go from a set of linked html pages to pdf... The CHM format would also be nice (I can convert from that one using Calibre or other tools).

How about one of the 'read later' type apps, such as http://getpocket.com/

Adobe Acrobat can do that. As you don't do that often, the trial version should be ok (might be a good idea to use one of those registry watcher tools, so you know where in the registry Adobe inserts their keys)

            Thanks!
I found an addon for firefox that also allows it:

It just seems to have a 25 file limitation, but other than that it works fine.
