The fact that it is even mentioned means there still may be a tad of hope.

Be sure to check on this in detail. The adapter does not support "iPod out" which may mean it won't work with your car.

        Thanks cjolley, that is crazy!!!!

I have to test the iPhone 5 with the adapter before upgrading, and I'll test the GSIII as well with the adapter I mentioned above.

One workaround I have heard of is to get a used iPod to play your music in the car.
          No phone though, obviously.

2x E4GT/GSII +16g uSD. 1 rooted and absolutely love it. The other has 4.0.4 on it.

Neighbour had to pawn his iPhone 4S. I'd set him back $325 to get back. Handed him mine and told him flat out to get the same. He did and was abit confused by the difference for a few days but proudly announced the other morning was glad he got away from apple. This was so much better. He's on TMobile which has good LTE coverage here.

Talked all my friends to get and they got, GSII, GSIII, GNx, GN

If you do any auto work grab a decient OBDII bluetooth code reader, some can be had for ~$20 on ebay/amazon. Buy Torque ($5 pfff) and have some serious diag tools. Personally have the OBDLink MX from Scantools.net. The Torque Track Recorder plugin (free) is slick.

Also am looking into using it for an acoustic analyzer. The internal digital mics they use are not the type/signal processing optimized for voice with an upper SPL limit of only 96dB. Alas a couple of cheap, but quite high quality instrumentation mics can be had for $50-60 on parts-express.com. A couple of apps have the calibration curves for these mics and sell for cheap.

Haven't looked into stereo recording ability using dual electrets or not. Probably not. would be nice to record at least in stereo and in 1080p while at a concert, other high noise enviroments clearly. The digital mics hardclip everything above 96, ack

Oh yeah twas reading on howto make a real optical spectometer for cheap <$100 thats works with android, open source software to boot

Ok I'll admit it, I want a real ST:NG Tricorder.
