I put a HDD cage into the bottom 5.25in bay.
It can hold 4 2.5in HDD's or SSD's, and is ready for dual channel SAS drives as well.

Seeing as my brother bought me a Samsung 840 Evo 250Gb SSD for Xmas, thats going in as well.

I'll be starting to optimise the system tonight and tomorrow, getting the memory up to speed and timings, a good overclock on the CPU (prob 4.2GHz), and then the big one, the Overclock of the GPU.

With the Large HardwareLabs SR-1 240mm (Actual 277mm) Radiator, it doesn't really fit after all.
It pushes the front of the 5.25in drive cage up by about 2mm, which is why I had to do some "bending" of the guides of the 5.25in drive cage. 275mm height is the absolute maximum this case will take up front.
After the bending, the HDD drive bay would just fit, literally. Luckily its being held in place with screws too, so its not a problem.

The cable mess behind the Motherboard. All the fans and the pumps are powered from a dedicated 90W Power brick, which is UPS'd.

The Pump/Perspex reservoir that was such a bi*ch to get together.

With the H100i installed, there isn't much space for a rear fan, not that i need it

A 240mm radiator gets pretty close to the ram, a 280mm might get overly close.

I have the Black Screen hang up bug that a lot of users seem to have.
its done it a lot this afternnon, five times or so, in relative quick succession, 10-20mins after boot, and hasn't done it for a while since I changed the power to the PCI-express slot to not power save, a few hours ago.

                  Touch wood.
Only just got it in its place, and the black screen thing is a nightmare; Full lock up, and have to reboot, which doesn't happen immediately, it takes 10 secs or so. after pressing the reboot button.

I'm happy its all watercooled via a separate power supply, at least nothing should fry

edit : did manage a furmark + Prime95 run for about 45mins, and got to 52°C on the cpu, and 39°C for the GPU, hottest VRM at 52°C. Ambient was probably 12°C, should really put that thermometer there.

Are you OCing yet? 52C seems high wheras 39C on the GPU seems (to me) like a great result.

The GPU has outside air, and the CPU has the leftover air from the GPU.
All the fans are at 12v thru the fractal design fan controller, whihc probably isn't giving 12V, with 24W going thru it
Also, ivy bridge are known to be hotter, due to the flux used under the heatspreader.

CPU isn't my main problem, thats well powerful enough as it is.
The GPU can and should be overclocked, but I have to be sure its perfectly stable at stock first.

No black screen yet since I changed the PCIe power setting, touch wood again, so its looking good.

edit : It could also be a cold boot type of bug. I've always had it a short while after boot, whereas its been a couple of hours now, and it seems fine, got Winamp going, a film, paused, hwmonitor, firefox, ...

Might try a game before bed, bought a Nvidia GTS 650 1Gb btw for PhysX for Star Citizen, of which I am officially part of.
Will have to see if Mantle + PhysX is possible

It had blackscreened by the time I woke up this morning. Bugger.

Rosetta@Home has done a bit overnight, but until its stable (GPU) it not going to be run again.
I'm pretty sure its going to be a driver issue, i'm wondering if going back to the initial R9 290 driver might be the best bet, before they started to try and "repair" the heat problems.

Google AMD 290 Black Screen and you'll see the hell thats broken loose.
It could just need a Bios flash, I have no idea at the moment, just have to try a few things.
