ASUS P3B-F, P3 700 FC-PGA=Hang

Hi,

Any help for P3B-F and P3 700, IE 5 will hang after a while with mouse and keyboard freeze in Win98SE. I had tried to swap the RAM but no luck. And sometimes it will auto reboot the system....

What processor did you have in before the flip chip? What slotket are you using?

A new system just build, new board and new processor.

Well, make sure that your slotket is jumpered for use with FC PGA and not PPGA. Make sure it is also jumpered for auto FSB, auto voltage. Make sure that your mothreboard is configured for running at 100 FSB (make sure the agp ratio is set to 2/3). Check in your bios to be certain that the voltage is set properly for your cpu. If all these things are okay, pull one stick of memory out and see if your problem goes away.

Also make sure, you have the latest Bios for your P3B-F at hand ...

Is that an E (=100MHz FSB) or EB P3 (=133MHz FSB) ?
