  • Really Really STUPID Question....

Anyone know where I can get a new output jack for my sound card? It has the worst connection ever. I made a temporary "dummy sound card" which occupies my ISA slot and is just a face with a jack which has been rerouted to it (sorry, I would post pics if I could - it's funny looking, but no camera and no scanner....). It's a real waste of space and I would love to dump it, so if you know where to get these pos's, let me know.

    Thanks,

    Dimitri

Tried that already Jim. None of the ones in Los Angeles seem to have any (good ones at least)... WTF!?! Other ideas?

OK, a bit off topic, but your subject reminds me of a quote, but I forgot the source to give credit to where credit is due.

There is no such thing as a stupid question; only stupid people who ask questions.

But seriously, perhaps you can remove one of the other connectors on that sound card. If you are never going to use the mic, remove the mic connector from the mic input & connect it to the output. Or did you mean that all of the connectors on that sound card are pieces of crap?

BTW, I'm curious, what sound card is it?

All the connectors sucks as I discovered when I tried removing them all and swithing them around. It's a creative ensonique audio pci I think. I didn't know jack about computers at the time I got it and don't remember what it is...

Fun games tonight Thunderchez. Why you gotta whoop on me like that!?!

Shit can it.. and put in a $40 live or aurel card ..No sweat, real purdy connectors, Quad ,u name it .. Or tear the connectors off the live and hammer them onto the crappy card you have now..I love a challenge too but there comes a point of diminishing returns when you gotta make a change.. good luck...Matt
