LG FLATRON FT795 PLUS & WIN2000

Hello!

I am planning to upgrade to win 2000.

I own the monitor in ref. and, according to an official reply by LG, no new driver for win2000 will be released (congratulations to LG.....).

So I was wondering if out there someone uses this monitor with win2000 without problems.

Now I work at 1024x768@85hz: will I be still able to set this res. and this frequency under win2000 even if my monitor is not supported by the O.S.?

i don't recognize the model of the monitor but you just be able to "define" the monitor under the standard monitor type, (ie 1024 x 768 @ 85 hz), it probably would be a good idea to look up the most recent hardware compatability list on microsofts' site for win2k

Thanks a lot again Chucky.

The monitor brand is under the name LG. I forgot to say that it has also the DDC feauture.
In some countries I think this brand is best known with its previous name Goldstar.

Unfortunately, according to yesterday's win2000 compatibility list, it's not fully supported yet.
Anyway, if there's the chance to set a general monitor type that works 1024x768@85hz (like it used to happen in win98 for not supported monitors. I haven't installed win2000 yet), I think everything should run fine.

I have the same monitor as you do. I haven't tried it with W2k yet, but in linux (no official support also) it works just fine.
The only hypotetical problem I see is, whether the USB hub will also work (with no additional drivers).

I too am the happy owner of an LG flatron monitor. And I'm writing this message in Win2000 and it runs fine. The driver that LG says is missing for 2000 is the util that lets you adjust your monitor from the desktop -> properties menu, but you can just use the on screen adjustment options instead.

And about the USB HUB : it runs fine under Win2K, it's all PnP.

So all in all, no sweat, LG flatron runs fine under Win2K.
