  • Overclocked system... what about AGP?

I overclocked the FSB of my motherboard using SoftFSB. The settings are 69.3Mhz. This also means that the AGP bus and my Matrox card are working at 69.3Mhz, right? Can I push it more (the AGP bus, I mean) without severe problems? No problem until now, and I´ve been playing for hours... my G200 is overclocked too (I attached a fan to the heatsink. The rest of the system has no additional cooling.)

    SPECS:
    Celeron 433@450Mhz
Intel Atlanta 440LX motherboard @69.3 FSB (Bios 14)
    Soundblaster PCI 128
    128 Mb SDRAM 100 Mhz
    Matrox G200 8Mb SDRAM AGP @105Mhz/140Mhz (Bios 2.6.20)
4.3 Gb Western Digital Caviar EIDE

Alec, don´t worry, that overclock is minimal, and surely within the card tolerance limits... Matrox cards usually work at AGP2x even at 89 Mhz bus speeds.

      Então, Nuno?

Sempre consegui pôr uma ventoinha de 600 paus(colei-a mesmo) e estou a subir de velocidade aos poucos...

      Obrigado pela dica outra vez!

I wonder if can increase the FSB a little more without extra case cooling...

I ran an old ABIT-BX6R2 at 129FSB without problems using stock cooling.

I ran an ABIT BE6 at 133FSB with stock cooling as well.

I added extra cooling when I switched to the 10,000RPM hard drives as the first gens created significant heat...

This is overclocking through software. I can take the AL440LX up to 80Mhz FSB...but 72 is normally the threshold past which disk and registry errors start to occur - i read this in a personal page dedicated to this motherboard and the way to overclock it. I took it to 70.something without problems, though.

            Cheers

That´s probably your hdd. Some simply can´t take bus speeds out of specs. Try to disable udma in the bios and see if it works. It should do the trick.
