  • "Glaze3D" next year. (This is real info)

Thank you for your continued interest in Bitboys and our XBA architecture. As you may know, I joined the company in late January with the express goal of seeing this architecture to fruition and bringing a revolutionary product family to market. The company's goal and mine has not changed.

We set ourselves a target to define our first XBA enabled product, its trademark and specifications by the end of March. The current engine looks very good and our theories on bandwidth and fill-rate have been proven. XBA will provide a huge performance increase over the industry standard architectures employed by our competitors. At this point, however, it is crucial for our company to deliver the right product for the market in terms of not only the performance, but also in terms of the features. XBA does enable superior fill-rates, but we wish to ensure that our first product is an unqualified success in all areas of performance in the 3D pipeline.

Therefore we have decided to push ahead with plans to incorporate our high performance geometry processing solution into our first product to deliver a truly amazing solution. This, together with the use of 0.17 micron manufacturing technology will extend the start of our commercial production to 2001 but will enhance the overall performance even further.

We have and will continue to spend a great deal of time and resources in this area to ensure that our product exceeds expectations. We are on track to have a technology demonstration of XBA this year. We will release the final product specification and its new trademark (changed due to claimed conflict of Glaze3D with an existing trademark) as soon as practically possible.

Bitboys is adding continuously talented resources to its team and is proceeding through a second round of financing to back up its current product plan. We will deliver.

    Sincerely,

    Shane Long
    President and CEO
    Bitboys Inc.

A 0.17u manufacturing process, and this is going to be their first silicon? They have no idea what they are getting into. It will never work. There are too many things that they know nothing about that are guaranteed to make it a dead piece of silicon.

I can't imagine the amounts of joy this seems to bring to some people's lives. Good, life is a funny thing.
But come on, they don't owe us anything. Let them try. After all, they keep humiliating themselves in public instead of calling it off, which to me only tells that there's something they sure seem to believe to.

Let's get bak to this in a year.

Maybe I repeat myself but, only time will tell ! But does this indicate that there's some silicon or what a heck ?

I wonder how the hell Glaze can keep saying they are coming out with a new product and it never comes to furitation. They have been talking about the Glaze3D since 1998, which is eons ago in the graphics industry. The thing I find really funny about this whole deal is someone already patened the name Glaze3D in the mean time!

I have always liked the "BetaBoys" better than the "BitBoys".

                  "BetaBoys" have nicer asses...

                    UncleJoe,

AFAIK, Bitboys has never had silicon. What they have had is a big circuit simulator that has "proven" their "theories" about circuit design. The fact that they couldn't possibly get a 0.17m fab right now, yet that is their target design, indicates that they are chip-less.

They COULD get 0.17 micron sample silicon IF they were to pay an R&D lab to press sample silicon for them. I know people who work in chip fabs and they do have testing equipment with those capabilities and better, but as for full fledge production...no.

It must have been a typo, I suspect they meant 0.18 microns. That or Siemens, who they have a business partnership with if I remember correctly, has some super secret fab/process that they are not telling anyone about.

But it doesn't really matter, because Bitboys Oy have never produced a product. So it doesn't, and won't, matter until they actually get off their butt and produce something.

                      Just my thoughts.

I hope they keep putting it off forever. Just because now that Daikatana is almost out, at least we'll still have someone to make fun of.

                          Hey, TheRock:

Note the "almost" in your last post. Daikatana is NOT out yet, and a million strategy guides in Electronics Boutique stores all over the country doesn't make it out yet.

Not that I doubt, even for a MINUTE, that it will release REALLY REALLY SOON, but...

Is Prey out by this time yet? Possibly, almost or any minute now?

I wasn't that far off in the last thread when I said Diakatana was vaporware as well, was I?
