    1. Leave Old HD as master and new HD as slave or master on the secondary controller.

    2. Create a boot disk with Ghost on it.

    3. Boot of disk and run Ghost program.

    4. Select Copy, Disk to Disk, and resize the partition it needed. (The source will be your old HD which will be the first listed an the second is the destination).

    5. Swap them over so the new on is the master and the old the slave.

    6. Boot Windows, the drives will appear interleaved i.e. C will be the 1st partition on the 1st drive, D will be be the 1st partition on the second drive, E will be the 2nd partition on the 1st drive etc.

    7. Delete anything on the old HD that is not required. As everthing is now on the new HD as well it can be formated.

      Thanks for the info,Taz.
Is there any known problems with large drives?
The system currently has an 8 gig hard drive and the new one is 15 gig.
Would the procedure be the same or are there things that I should be aware of prior to attempting this.

Hell, you don't even need to do all that.

        1) Put the new drive in as Secondary Master (get a faster xfer that way).

        2) Boot to Windows from your old drive.

        3) Start Ghost, select Drive -> Drive transfer. Select your old drive as the source and the new as destination.

        4) Once its done, power down, put the new drive in as Primary Master and the old in as Primary Slave.

        DONE!

        Very simple.

Oh, and don't worry about the drive sizes. I have copied 2 GB drives to 13 GB drives with no trouble. Ghost will automatically detect the size of the drives and use all of the space, unless you tell it otherwise.

          Jammrock,
Are you saying ghost while in windows?
So far I've heard do it from Dos or using a floppy.
As this isn't my computer,I want to know what the heck I'm doing!
          Thanks for your advice.

I know you can Ghost in Windows with version 5.1c or greater (ones I have used). I use 6.03, which works just fine in Windows. As long as the source and destination are different physical drives, there are no problems, since all ghost does is a bit for bit copy.

If you have Norton Speed Disk or the like, run that before you Ghost, it will speed things up a bit.
